Images and File attachments
- Write your update;
- Click the paperclip icon, select one or multiple files and add them to the update;
- Select a group to send your update to;
- Click Post to place the update.
Videos
On Desktop
- Login to your network or login.speakap.com;
- Write your update;
- Click the video icon to select a video file;
- Select the video file and click OPEN;
- The video file is being uploaded. Please wait for the Post button to be clickable;
- Your video is being processed. This may take several minutes. You will receive a notification when the processing is done and the update has been posted.
On iPhone
- Open The mobile app;
- Tap
top right to post an update;
- Write your update;
- Tap the video icon to select a video file;
- Select your video file and tap on ‘Select’
- Tap on the check
button to post the update
- The video file will now be processed. This will take a moment. You will receive a notification when it is done
On Android
At this moment it is only possible to upload a video file as an attachment.
- Open the Speakap application
- Tap on the pencil button to post an update
- Write your update
- Tap the paperclip to select the video file which is saved on your Android phone
- Select the video file and the file will start to upload
- When the uploading is done, the upload button will turn blue. Tap the button to post.
Note: Your upload will be only visible on the timeline when you have received a notification of the video being available.
Requirements for Videos in Updates
All videos have a ratio of 16:9 (vertical or horizontal, and all types of content). If the uploaded video is not 16:9, black bars are added on the sides to adapt to this ratio.
- Max resolution to stream: HD (720p)
- Max size: 1GB for all uploads total within an article
- Behavior:
- Automatic resize to fit the screen width
- Resizing and cropping the original image is not possible
- Alignment (left/right/center) within the update is not possible
- Streamed, so the playback quality might be lower than the uploaded video
