Article summary: The platform offers a Network Avatar and Network Logo. This guide explains the purpose, technical specifications, and setup process for both branding elements.
1. Visual Differences & Specifications
The redesign splits your branding assets into two distinct elements to optimize how your company identity displays across different areas of the platform.
| Branding Asset | Where It Appears | Shape & Ideal Aspect Ratio | Minimum Dimensions | Max File Size / Type |
| Network Avatar | Login screen and favicon. | Square (1:1 aspect ratio). | 250px by 250px. | Standard web formats. |
| Network Logo | Platform header. | Rectangular (15:4 aspect ratio). | 120px (width) by 32px (height). | Max 20MB; PNG recommended for transparency. |
2. Managing the Network Avatar
The Network Avatar is shown as a square in the favicon and login page.
- What you need to do: Simply upload your existing corporate logo file into the avatar slot.
- Built-in Cropper: If your source image is larger or contains extra background space, use the built-in cropping tool during upload. The tool is automatically locked to a square shape, allowing you to select and save your preferred area instantly.
3. Managing the Network Logo
The Network Logo is a layout component explicitly designed to sit inside the upper navigation header. Because header space is horizontally oriented, square logos will distort; your uploaded asset must be rectangular.
Best Practices for the Network Logo:
- Prevent Distortion: Always maintain a proportional relationship between the width and height of your image. For the cleanest fit, design your graphic to match the ideal 15:4 aspect ratio.
- Use Transparency: We highly recommend uploading your asset as a PNG file if your logo requires a transparent background.
- Preview Your Work: Use the admin preview window to see how your logo looks superimposed over your chosen custom banner theme color. Be sure to check the presentation across multiple device types to ensure it stays sharp and readable.
- Cropper Tool: Like the avatar settings, a rectangular built-in cropper tool is available to help you frame your image area perfectly during the upload process.
4. Updating Your Logo Settings
To upload your brand assets, navigate to the theme configuration dashboard using the following path:
Network settings → Appearance → Theme → General.
Note: At the top of the General settings page, you will see a toggle option to switch between Original settings and Redesign settings. To ensure a smooth transition, Speakap is temporarily supporting both layouts simultaneously, allowing you to flip between the two versions while you finalize your rectangular assets.
