My video will not upload or play

If you have trouble uploading a video to the network, please take a look at the following list:

  1. Does your video meet our requirements?
Speakap allows videos up to 1GB (1024MB) in size and if you add the video file as an attachment, the maximum size is 256 MB.
Supported formats are MP4, MPEG, MPG, WMV, AVI, MOV, WEBM.

It might be very likely that your video is too large to upload, so in that case, we advise you to use a video compressor to reduce the size of the video without losing its quality. The speed of uploading and transcoding of the video will then also increase!

  2. Can you improve your internet connection?
When uploading a video takes a very long time, this could very likely be due to internet connection issues. You can check your upload speed via a free online tool and if possible, try to improve your internet connection or reduce the size of the video like in 1.

  3. When you did succeed in uploading the video, did it already finish transcoding?
After the video is uploaded, our job is to transcode it. If the video processing takes a long time at our side, don't worry! This can happen with large sized videos, but also high resolution videos. Simply said: more data, more transcoding time.

If you met all requirements and did you practice some patience, and you are still experiencing issues with your video? Please share the video with Support via support@speakap.nl and a screenshot of the error you are encountering. If the video is too large for email, you can use tools like WeTransfer for sharing it. We will do some investigating and testing and help you to get your video uploaded as soon as possible!
