1. Enabling pronouns for the network
The pronouns feature is disabled by default. Network Administrators can activate it for all users through the platform preferences.
- Log in to your Speakap network and click the gear wheel icon to enter Network settings.
- Select Preferences from the left-hand menu.
- Locate the User Pronouns section.
- Toggle the switch to Enable Pronouns.
2. User experience and customization
Once the feature is enabled at the network level, a new field will appear in every member's personal settings.
- Predefined Options: Users can select from standard pronoun sets (He/Him, She/Her, They/Them) provided by the system
- Custom Text: If the predefined options do not fit a user's identity, they have the flexibility to enter custom text.
- Visibility: After a user saves their selection, their pronouns will be visible on their profile card, making it easier for colleagues to address them correctly in chats and updates.
