Formatting and Attachments in the Knowledge Base

It is important you have options to format and structure information to make it more effective. This is why the Knowledge Base offers text formatting options to aid the knowledge sharing process. We understand it is also often crucial to attach visuals, files, or link to other sources to broaden the information scope.

In this article, we explain how the text editor works, and how to add images, videos, links, and files in the Knowledge Base.

Formatting

You have a variety of formatting options when it comes to text within the Knowledge Base:

  • Format as Headings
  • Bold
  • Italics
  • Strikethrough
  • Underline
  • Costumize alignment and text indentation
  • Bullet points and numbered lists
  • Insert a link within the text

Header

You can add a cover image as header in the Knowledge Base for a category, subcategory, and for articles.

To do so, click on the three dots at the top right corner of the default header, and upload your preferred image. The header has a ratio of 14:5 (equals 1120x400 at the largest breakpoint).

Images, Videos, and Files in the Knowledge Base

You can embed images and videos in Knowledge Base articles, as well as attach files and insert links into the text.

To add attachments, select the appropriate one by clicking on the link, image, video, or file icons in the text formatting banner.

Decide how you would like pictures to show within articles in the Knowledge Base by dragging their size once they are on the page, and by selecting your preferred option for the image’s interaction with text from the banner that you will see appear above the newly attached picture.

You can opt for not embedding pictures and videos, in this case, add them as downloadable attachments by selecting the paper clip icon and picking your desired media file.
