How can I give a user more or less rights?

You have the ability to establish a variety of roles, each with distinct permission levels. This capability is essential for managing access within your platform, as it enables you to determine who is authorized to utilize specific features. For instance, you can restrict the ability to post updates or content within your network to certain roles, ensuring that only designated users can share information or engage with the community in that way. This level of control not only enhances security but also helps maintain the quality and relevance of the content being shared.

You can give a user more or less permissions by assigning them a specific role, or making them an admin of an organisational element.

Assigning a Specific Role to the User

To ensure that a user has the necessary general permissions within the network, it is advisable to either create a new role tailored to their needs or assign them an existing role that fits their responsibilities. This approach allows for a more structured and organised management of user permissions, enabling users to access the resources and tools they require to perform their tasks effectively.

Designating the User as an Admin of an Organisational Element

If you wish to grant a user specific permissions pertaining to a particular Business Unit, (Local) Department, or Group, you have the option to designate them as an admin for that specific organisational element. This designation empowers the user with the authority to manage memberships and publish posts within that segment.
You can make someone an admin of an organisational element by navigating to it, clicking on the gear icon and choosing for "Manage group...". This will open the users overview and by clicking on the pencil that will appear when hovering on a user, you change their role to admin or back to member.
