Welcome to the New Feed! We’re excited to introduce Speakap’s new Feed: a fresh, intuitive experience that makes discovering and engaging with content easier than ever. What was previously known as the Timeline is now the Feed, with a modern look and smoother performance.
Note: When clicking on News it will still take you to the original design for now.
You’ll see the new Feed as soon as you open Speakap or click the Feed menu item. Let’s help you get familiar with your refreshed surroundings.
Just like before, at the heart of the page, you will see your feed – former timeline – front and center, with posts from your colleagues and teams, including:
- Updates
- Polls
- News
- Events
One of the most noticeable additions to the Feed is the new banner at the top. This provides an updated look and can be personalized to better match your branding needs.
Creating a Post
At the bottom of the banner, you’ll find the post composer—your go-to spot for creating a post.
Here, you can:
- Write and share updates (text, images, or files)
- Create polls
- Select an audience (using the new accordion picker for Business Units and Groups)
Filtering & Sorting Options
Just below the post composer, you’ll find a refreshed filter bar that makes it easier to view specific types of content.
You can still sort your Feed based on:
- Activity First (most engaged posts first)
- Newest First (chronological order)
You can also filter by content type:
- All Posts
- News
- Updates
- Events
- Polls
Welcome to the New Feed! Previously known as the Timeline, it now offers a fresh look and a more intuitive way to discover and engage with content.
Note to our iOS users: these changes are only available on Android so far, but we are hard at work to bring you the refreshed Feed and much more, hang tight!
When you open the app on Android, as well as when you tap on the Feed button, you will immediately find yourself looking at the new Feed. Let’s help you familiarize yourself with the revamped surroundings.
Just like before, at the heart of the page, you will see your feed – former timeline – front and center, with posts from your colleagues and teams, including:
- Updates
- Polls
- News
- Events
Alongside the Feed, the bottom navigation bar has been redesigned to improve accessibility and usability.
At the top you will have the global search button and a ‘+’ icon, from which you can create new posts.
Creating a Post
Tap on the ‘+’ icon in the top right corner to open the post composer—your go-to spot for creating content. Here, you can:
- Write and share updates (text, images, or files)
- Create polls, news, and events
- In all posts use rich text formatting to enhance readability
- Select an audience
Tap the icon to open a dropdown with post types you can create — Update, Poll, Event, or News. Just choose the one you want and start creating!
Improved Filtering Options
Right at the top of the scrollable feed, you’ll notice a redesigned filter bar that makes it easier to view specific types of content. Yes, you got it right, now filtering is available on Android!
By tapping on the circular icon with the three stacked lines you can still sort your Feed based on:
- Activity First (most engaged posts first)
- Newest First (chronological order)
Next to it, you can now also filter by content type:
- All Posts
- News
- Updates
- Events
- Polls
Search
Tapping on the magnifying glass icon in the top right will open up the same powerful search you are familiar with, now with a refreshed look. Search across all content types, as well as people, groups, and more.
Note: Even when you have applied filters in the Feed, the search looks at results across the entire platform, not only through the filtered content type.

When you are on the feed, here you can access all of the functionalities described above:
- Search
- Compose a post
- Filters
The top navigation bar will change once you leave the feed to match the feature you selected.
The Bottom Navigation Bar
Navigate easily through Speakap’s features by tapping on the different icons in the bar at the bottom of your screen.
What navigation options do you have?
- Feed – Go back to your main Feed to see updates and posts.
- News – Jump to the News section for key announcements.
- Messages – Chat directly with your colleagues.
- Alerts – View new or missed alerts and notifications.
Main Menu – Access all other Speakap features, plus your personal and network settings.
