Sometimes words are not enough or you need to share some additional documentation: share images, videos, files, and GIFs with your colleagues to give color to your updates!
Select the image icon in the bottom left corner of the text composer: you can drag the picture you want to attach in the box, or select “Click to upload” and pick the image file you want to attach to the update from your device.
You will see a preview of the picture right in the text box. If you upload more than one, you will see them there, one after the other. All of the preview images will have an X in the top right corner, click on it if you want to delete it from the update you are composing.
What will this look like on the feed?
Here’s an example of what your images will look like on the feed, based on how many you attach to an update:
- One image
- Two images
- Three images
- Four or more images: to see the other pictures and open the gallery view click on the last image with the number and plus sign on it.
When you open the gallery view you will see the image on the left side, and all the comments on the right.
Uploading a video to the feed can be easily done when posting an update. Once you are in the text composer, select the video icon from the bottom left corner. Now, you can drag the video you want to attach in the box, or select “Click to upload” and pick the video file you want to attach to the update from your device.
What will this look like on the feed?
While you are posting a video through an update, keep in mind that the time for uploading the video might be slightly longer. While the video is uploading, the update will appear on the timeline slightly “grayed-out”. The post will immediately show normally as soon as the video is uploaded.
Attach PDF, XLS, DOC files to your updates by clicking on the page icon from the bottom left corner. Now, either drag the file you want to attach in the box, or select “Click to upload” and pick the file you want to attach to the update from your device.
If you upload the wrong file by mistake, simply correct your error by clicking on the bin icon of the file you want to delete.
The files will be shown at the bottom of the text of your update, with a download arrow. By clicking on them, users will be able to download them and open them on their own device. If there are more than 3 attached files, the first 3 will show as explained, and to see the other ones users will need to click on “View all attachments”.
