Article Summary This guide explains the current limitations regarding ending or archiving a Journey in Speakap. While a native "Archive" button is not yet available, this article provides a simple workaround to hide a Journey from your employees while preserving its historical analytics.
Current Limitations and Roadmap
At this time, it is not possible to formally "end" or "archive" an active Journey. Once a Journey is created, your two primary options are to either permanently remove (delete) it, or change its audience group.
The Workaround: How to "Archive" a Journey
If you no longer want people to see a Journey, but you do not want to permanently delete it, you can hide it by changing its target audience.
To do this, we recommend setting up a dedicated archive group:
- Create a new Private Group in your network and name it something like "Journey Archives."
- Do not invite any standard employees to this group; only include yourself or other administrators.
- Navigate to the active Journey you wish to end.
- Edit the Journey and change its target audience to your new "Journey Archives" private group.
- Once saved, the Journey will immediately disappear from the view of the original audience.
Important Note Regarding Analytics
When you move a Journey to a new group, the system preserves the analytics, but the reporting view will only reflect the current audience.
For example, if you move a Journey that was completed by 100 people into an archive group that only has 2 administrators, the analytics dashboard will only show data for those 2 people.
How to export your original data: If you ever need to view or export the historical analytics for the original 100 users:
- Edit the hidden Journey and temporarily change the audience back to the original group.
- Open the analytics dashboard and run your export.
- Edit the Journey again and move it back to the Journey Archives private group.
