How do I tag my colleague?

Summary: Want to give a colleague a shoutout or pull an expert into a conversation? This guide explains how to mention (tag) colleagues with the @ symbol, where tags work, and what notification your teammate receives.

How to mention a teammate

To tag a colleague, type @firstname or @surname directly into the text field. As you type, a dropdown list of matching names appears. Click or tap the right profile to lock in the tag.

Mentions are a great way to get people to respond to your updates, bring specific experts into the loop, and create a more engaging conversation across your network.

Where you can tag

You can tag colleagues in standalone updates and in all comment sections across the platform. This includes:

  • Comments placed directly under updates, news items, events, and polls.

What happens when a colleague is tagged

The moment you publish an update or comment containing a mention, the tagged person receives a notification saying they have been tagged by you, including the type of content they were mentioned in.

To view the post, your colleague can click or tap the notification, or browse their notification panel at any time.

Note: If someone is tagged but is not a member of the restricted or private group the post is in, they will not be notified.
