Summary: This guide is for admins who manage Journeys, whether for onboarding, training, or change management. It covers how to update a live Journey's settings and steps, what edits do (and don't do) to participant progress, and how to delete a Journey.
Before you start
- Web only: Creating, editing, and deleting Journeys is only possible from a desktop web browser. Participants can complete Journeys on mobile, but admins cannot manage them there.
- Changes go live fast: Most text, title, and media changes are visible across your network in close to real time.
Editing a live Journey
Open your desktop browser, go to the Journeys admin panel, and click the Journey you want to change.
Updating the general settings
Click the three dots options menu (...) in the top right corner of the title banner. From there you can edit:
- Title: Change the Journey's heading.
- Audience: Adjust which business units, departments, groups, or user types are enrolled.
- Cover image: Upload a new banner.
- Journey color: Change the accent color.
Editing individual steps
Inside the Journey view, you can rework the content with these controls:
- Edit a step: Click the pencil icon on the right side of a step to open the editor and change its text or title.
- Add a step: Click + Add Step in the top right corner, above the list of steps. Note: you cannot add or move quiz questions after launch; this is not yet available.
- Reorder steps: Click Change step order to drag and drop steps into a new sequence.
- Delete a step: Click the trashcan icon on the right side of a step to remove that step.
How edits affect participant progress
Good news first: editing the text, fixing a typo, or updating media inside an existing step does not reset participant progress. Anyone who already finished that step keeps their completed mark.
Structural changes are different:
- Adding or removing steps changes the total step count, so the system recalculates completion percentages. This immediately affects participant progress numbers.
- Rewriting a step completely? Delete the old step and add a fresh one instead. That way, people who finished the old version have to review the new material.
- Order of operations: Make your content and step changes first, and save audience changes for last. This keeps processing clean for active participants.
Deleting a Journey
If a Journey is no longer needed, you can remove it entirely:
- Open the Admin Panel and select Journeys.
- Click the Journey you want to delete.
- Click the three dots options menu (...) in the right-hand corner of the title banner.
- Select Delete journey. This permanently removes the Journey and all its historical progress records.
Frequently asked questions
What should I use Journeys for?
Journeys are built for structured employee onboarding, training, and change management programs.
Will fixing a typo in a step clear my employees' completed marks?
No. Changing the text or title of an existing step does not reset anyone's progress.
What happens to progress data if I delete a step?
Completion rates are calculated from the total number of steps, so removing (or adding) a step immediately changes participants' progress percentages.
Can I edit Journeys on my phone?
No. Creating, editing, and deleting Journeys only works in the web admin panel on desktop.
