Your messages are private
At Speakap, private really means private. Any private message or chat conversation between two or more people is strictly confidential, and can only be seen by the people who are included in that conversation. There is one exception: if messages are reported, admins can review the reported messages and take action.
What administrators and managers can and cannot see
Unlike public Feed updates or news comments, your direct messages are protected:
- Network Administrators: Cannot access, review, or audit your private chat history from the backend control panel. Only when messages are reported can admins review them and take action.
- Corporate leadership: No managers, supervisors, or platform creators (inside or outside your organization) can view your conversations.
In short: you can communicate freely with your teammates knowing that your text chats, shared media, and direct interactions stay fully contained within your private chat window, as long as messages are not reported.
