1. Domain requirements
Before you start, pick the exact domain you want your employees to use. Two rules apply: Speakap networks support a single custom domain, and for technical routing the domain must include a subdomain.
Examples:
- Valid: my.companyname.com (includes the "my" subdomain)
- Invalid: companyname.com (root domains without a subdomain cannot be routed)
2. Step-by-step setup
Setting up your custom domain is a joint effort between your internal IT team and Speakap. Follow these steps:
- Select and verify: Choose your target domain name, making sure it includes a subdomain as described above.
- Submit your request: Email technicalimplementations@speakap.nl with the exact domain name you want to use.
- Receive DNS instructions: The Speakap technical team will send you a setup template with the exact DNS record parameters needed on your side.
- Create the DNS record: Log into your domain registrar or hosting provider's management console and create the requested DNS record so your chosen subdomain points to the designated Speakap hosting IP address.
