Summary: The Knowledge Base text editor gives you solid formatting and attachment options to structure your articles well. This guide covers text styling, header images, and how to add images, videos, hyperlinks, and files.
Text formatting options
The Knowledge Base text editor lets you structure your articles with:
- Headings: Format text blocks as headings to create a clear visual hierarchy.
- Text styling: Apply bold, italics, strikethrough, or underline to emphasize important phrases.
- Alignment and indentation: Adjust text alignment and indentation for better readability.
- Lists: Use bullet points and numbered lists to break down actions or group related ideas.
- Hyperlinks: Insert clickable links directly in your text.
Header and cover images
You can add a cover image as a header banner for any category, subcategory, or individual article.
- How to upload: Click the three dots icon in the top right corner of the default header area and upload your image.
- Dimensions: The header image is 1200x400 pixels, an aspect ratio of 3:1.
Adding media and attachments
Articles support both embedded media and downloadable files:
- Embedding media: Select the link, image, video, or file icon in the formatting toolbar. Once an image is on the page, you can resize it by dragging its borders, and use the small banner that appears above the image to manage how it sits within the surrounding text.
- Downloadable attachments: Prefer not to embed something in the text flow? Click the paper clip icon and select your file to attach it as a download.
Media specifications
The Knowledge Base follows the platform-wide upload rules: images (JPEG, JPG, PNG, GIF, up to 20MP resolution), videos, and documents (PDF, XLS, DOC), with SVG and HTML files not accepted as images.
