Cover Image, Pictures & Files in Events

Summary: A themed cover image and a few well-chosen pictures or files make your event posts more informative and inviting. This guide covers adding a cover image, attaching pictures and files to an event, and the limits that apply.

1. Adding a cover image to an event

A cover image acts as the visual banner for your event page. You can upload one from both desktop and mobile:

  • On desktop: click the Add cover image button in the event creation screen.
  • On mobile: tap the designated Cover image section.

Size requirement: the image must be 474x158 pixels. If the resolution is too low, the upload is blocked and an error message asks you to choose a larger file.

2. Attaching pictures and files

To share supporting materials, schedules, or inline images in your event description, use one of these methods:

  • Toolbar icons: select the image or file icon in the formatting toolbar directly above the event description text box.
  • Copy and paste: for a faster workflow, copy an image to your clipboard and paste it directly into the description text area.

3. Limits and supported formats

Events follow Speakap's general attachment rules:

  • Up to 100 combined images and files per event.
  • Up to 256MB per image or file.
  • Supported images: JPEG, JPG, PNG, GIF. Supported files: PDF, XLS, DOC.
  • Not supported: vector images (such as SVG) and web file types (such as HTML); these give an error during upload.

For the full media and upload guidelines, including video formats and sizes, see Guidelines for Uploading Media and Files.
